These are basic guidelines on how to look after your silk scarf:
1. Using warm water (not hot water) immerse the scarf in the water, do not allow it to stand for too long – 1 to 2 minutes is fine.
2. Whilst in the water gently sway the scarf from side to side.
3. You can add various products to the water if you wish – but depending on your reason for washing you should refer to the internet.
4. Do not soak the scarf for more than a few minutes.
5. Do not wring / twist the scarf. Wrap it in a towel and press, allowing the towel to absorb as much water as possible.
6. The scarf will still be a little damp, to avoid it losing its shape; whilst damp you should (on the reverse side) iron it on a low heat setting. You can if you want to be extra careful place another piece of material in-between the scarf and the iron so it doesn’t take the direct heat. |
